The “Chamfer” tool creates various chamfers in different objects. The added material object created employing this tool is of a specific type, thus it is recommended to be applied in case a detailed chamfer statement or chamfer marking is required, with paying attention to the particularities of dimensions of the chamfers. In practice, these are exceedingly rare requirements. In all other cases use standard cut-off tools described above.
The edge preparation is necessary for setting weld-outs. In older TS versions the “Weld” tool was not able to exercise edge preparation. In the current versions, edge preparation is customizable at the "Weld seam Properties" dialog window.
