Selecting objects by framing in the left-to-right and right-to-left direction

Below you can see the schemes for selecting objects, where the results of selecting are marked in green. The right-to-left direction selects all the objects even partially framed by the mouse cursor.

The direction  left-to-right selects only objects which are entirely framed by the mouse cursor.
