The present guidelines had been designed to help to learn how to use the
CAD Tekla Structures software from scratch. These guidelines will be handy
support for those who have already got familiarized with Tekla Structures,
and who would like to improve their proficiency level. Here you can find

design of several construction documentation types, although SST drawings
design in TS is feasible in either case.

TopEngineer developed steel detailing (shop and erection drawings) for the needs of liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants. Documentation was developed for Technip company. The uniqueness of this project for our company was as follows: 1. As initial data, we were provided with a rod model with calculated sections and forces for joints. We, in turn, made the calculation of all connection for metal structures. 2.The design often changed in the project due to updated tasks from technologists. We tracked changes and adjusted drawings for steel fabricators or site workers.

Reinforced Concrete Modeling and Detailing
Topengineer offers the best rebar detailing solutions and rebar services under one roof, for a wide range of buildings and structures. Our experience includes small slabs, stairs and elevators, residential and commercial complexes, bridge structures and sports stadiums. We can offer a dedicated team of reinforced concrete specialists who can detail various types of reinforced concrete structures. All work is carried out under the supervision of certified civil engineers in accordance with any standard (such as AISC, TEMA, ASME, CRSI, ASTM, ACI, BS and IS).
TS software does not require any special PC inner components. Creating
small models up to 500 tons of the metal structures can be done by any
PC, equipped with a discrete graphics chip and a preinstalled operating
system of Windows 8 and more advanced.
It is recommended to use two monitors to ease the work process.
It is not recommended to use:
Outdated PCs over 7-10 years old, due to the loss of the relevance
Laptops, due to low-capacity parameters of graphic chips and low thermal
conduction.
Other portable devices without discrete graphics chips.
HDD, used as the main disk, due to slow response
Monitors with a screen resolution lower than 1920x1080
Devices with RAM less than 4 Gb.
Network interface cards and routers of 10 or 100 Mbit/s due to technological
obsolescence.
Graphic chips NVIDIA Quadro due to low efficiency (lack of hardware acceleration

TS training version is available for downloading at the Tekla Structures
Prior to downloading, go through the registration process on the web page.
If the trial period extension is required, create an additional account
Downloading the TS trial version allows you to use the software for non-commercial
purposes. Though, legal entities shall obtain Tekla Structures license
for operating it in full.
The training version does not allow using all the software’s features
due to significant limitations, as well as models created in the TS training
version are not viable for reviewing in TS full version. This is why the
full TS version is recommended.
Run the downloaded Tekla Structures installation file. Select DISK:\TeklaStructures
It is not recommended to install Tekla Structures to the folder DISK:\Program
Files. Installing TS to the Program Files folder results in saving settings
folders at user’s settings, which are changing their location depending
on the windows version and operating system bit set, which is not a convenient
option for tuition.

If the localization package you are available at does not coincide with
the localization package used in the examples of the present guidelines,
there will be no issue of not understanding the TS tools functionality,
just proceed on selecting the profiles and materials options available

Any environment ( localization) package contains the following files:

to edit the properties list by adding the following: drawing number, number
of drawings, and others.
Additional Tekla Structures applications, s.a. WeldApp – weld seaming
according to ISO, drawings numerator, and others.
When launching Tekla Structures, in the dialog window appeared choose
the required localization package (environment). TS trial version is not
available on the localization packages, thus TS full version is recommended.
If only
one environment
( localization package) option is installed, then no other selectable
options will be displayed.
The
Role tab
defines circumscribing the engineers’ work on different documentation
sets. Choose the “Full” option.
