2.8.5 The “Move Special- To another plane” tool in Tekla Structures
This tool executes an object displacement to the new coordinates as well
as simultaneously rotating it about all the axes. Using this tool requires
a high precision and attentiveness grade, as it requires continually selecting
a lot of points: coordinates from where to move an object, and the coordinates
to where to move an object.

The algorithm for moving an object to another plane is as follows:
Make sure all operations are canceled or press the Esc key.
Rotate the view in the way shown below.
Select the object to be moved.
Enable the “Move Special - To another plane” tool.
Select the first point, indicating the origin of the coordinates, from
where the object is to be moved.
Select the second point, indicating the direction along the X-axis of
the object’s local coordinate system, from where the object is to
be moved.
Select the third point, indicating direction along the Y-axis of the object’s
local coordinate system, from where the object is to be moved.
Select the fourth point, indicating the origin of the coordinates, to
where the object is to be moved.
Select the fifth point, indicating the direction along the X-axis of the
new coordinate system to where the object will get moved.
Select the sixth point indicating the direction along the Y-axis
of the new coordinate system to where the object will get moved.
To disable the “Move Special - To another plane” tool, press
the Esc key.
